In Honkers

After a rather hospital-orientated week due to Lucia's continued gastro issues and dramatic weight-loss we finally packed up yesterday and headed down to Sydney via VirginBlue. The taxi driver from home was wonderfully friendly and involved in our trip and that has set the tone so far - VirginBlue staff were delightful and Lucia received her own certificate for flying on the Brizzy Lizzie. There was further excitement when we had to catch a bus to the International terminal across the runway and despite flying economy from Sydney to HK the staff ensured that we got the extra legroom seats much to Tony's relief. At HK we tracked down the Novotel shuttle and were met at the hotel by the manager, Mr Wu, himself. We have been given the Premier floor - 2 x rooms, with fantastic facilities all care of Nick Larkworthy at Virgin...they had even put a special baby bath in the bathroom and were fully aware of Lucia's lengthy skincare regime. Lucia has kept all her tube feeds down so far(huge sigh of relief from us)but is now sitting on a measly 11.4kg - not a great look for arriving at the clinic, but we are sure that it is onwards and upwards from here on in! At the buffet breaky this morning she even nibbled some bacon!
Over and out for now - we are Heathrow-bound!

We are off...

Due to your generosity and support we are able to take this opportunity for Lucia to attend the feeding clinic in Austria.
We leave on Saturday 30 May and arrive in Graz on 1 June - we hope to be able to keep you updated on our progress at the clinic via this blog.

And in keeping with the whole eating theme, we are all getting over a tummy-flattening case of 24-48hr gastro! This, coupled with some technical hiccups on the computer and home phone lines, has ensured that the coming week will be a super busy one.
